A 51-year-old man from Garfield has been arrested following an incident in which he allegedly threatened individuals with a firearm late Sunday afternoon.
Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report around 6:00 PM regarding a man pointing a pistol at two people in a vehicle. The individual, identified as Fritz Henn, was located near Grumpy’s Tavern when the alleged incident occurred. Patrons inside the establishment intervened by taking Henn’s gun and securing it until law enforcement arrived. Henn reportedly informed deputies that there had been individuals in his home who shot his dog. However, upon investigating his residence, the sheriff’s office found no evidence to support his claims. Henn was subsequently arrested on two counts of felony attempted second-degree assault and for carrying a weapon in prohibited areas.
