A 51-year-old man from Moscow has pleaded guilty to charges of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and confining her in a storage unit.

Michael Dahl entered a guilty plea for 2nd degree felony kidnapping in Latah County Second District Court. He was arrested in late March after police responded to a report of a woman screaming from inside a storage unit at an apartment complex on 3rd Street. Upon arrival, officers found the door screwed shut and had to force it open to rescue the woman, who had been locked inside while doing laundry. Reports indicate that Dahl threatened her during the incident, which lasted approximately one hour.

Sentencing for Dahl is scheduled for July.
