A 58-year-old man from Western Washington, Shawn Johnson, has been deemed incompetent to stand trial in Idaho after being charged with felony aggravated assault in Lewiston, Nez Perce County Second District Court. Johnson was arrested by Idaho State Police for allegedly shooting at another motorist from his pickup truck on U.S. Highway 95 on Lewiston Hill.

In addition, the Washington State Patrol is investigating Johnson for purportedly firing shots from his truck in Whitman County. They are looking into an incident where shots may have been fired near a traffic stop involving a trooper on State Route 26 near Colfax. No injuries were reported during these events, which occurred on the afternoon of August 6th.

Currently, Johnson is in the custody of the Idaho State Department of Health, where efforts are being made to restore his competency to stand trial.
