A 61-year-old man from Moscow has been arrested in connection with alleged methamphetamine trafficking. The investigation began earlier this month when local police were looking into Dale Smithee for reckless driving. Information gathered during this investigation raised suspicions that Smithee might be involved in the sale of meth.
On September 12th, Moscow Police obtained a search warrant for Smithee’s residence, where they reportedly discovered approximately half a pound of methamphetamine, over $5,000 in cash, and digital scales. At the time of the search, Smithee was not present at his home. Subsequently, he was apprehended under an arrest warrant. Smithee is facing multiple drug-related charges, including felonies for meth trafficking and possession of narcotics. He was arraigned in Latah County Second District Court on Monday morning and is scheduled to return to court next month.
