Plans for a full-service drive-thru Chick-fil-A in Moscow have not progressed as anticipated. The announcement for a second location was made by Mayor Art Bettge during his annual State of the City Address last winter. The restaurant was intended to be established in the Palouse Place parking lot, where the former Sangria restaurant was situated. Initially, the mall’s website featured a Chick-fil-A logo at the site under the label “Coming Soon,” but this logo has since been removed.

A representative from Chick-fil-A’s new restaurant opening team, Amanda Calhoun, confirmed to Pullman Radio News that there are currently no new locations planned for Moscow. In her email, she noted, “While we hope to bring new restaurants to the Moscow community in the future, we do not have any locations to confirm.”

Demolition of the old Sangria restaurant and construction for the Chick-fil-A were expected to commence in the spring or summer. City officials from the Moscow planning department stated that all necessary permits for building the restaurant had been approved.

This Chick-fil-A would have represented an expansion for the national chain in Moscow, which already has a location at the University of Idaho in the Student Union Building.
