The final approximately 70 vote-by-mail ballots from the recent Pullman primary election in Whitman County have been counted by the county auditor’s office in Colfax.
In the primary election for Whitman County Commissioner, Republican candidates Cody Finch and Chad Whetzel will advance to the general election in November. In the Pullman School Board race, Deena Bayoumi will compete against Hannah Martian. Incumbent Amanda Tanner was defeated in the primary by a margin of 11%, resulting in newcomers Stephanie Horn and Brandon Kruger moving forward to the November election.
For the Pullman City Council, Bryan MacDonald will face John-Mark Manhkey in the Ward 1 general election, while Tawny Szumlas and John Casselman will compete in the Ward 3 general election.
In local levy results, the Farmington street levy did not pass, whereas the Lamont school levy was approved.
Overall voter turnout for this election was reported at 29%.
