Whitman County Fire District 7 Volunteers from Rosalia responded to a small field fire on Tuesday. The fire occurred in standing grain on Pine City-Malden Road just outside of town around 11:00 AM. Crews were able to contain the fire to an area of 7 acres. It is suspected that a blown powerline fuse from Avista Utilities may have caused the fire.
