The Palouse Empire Fair is taking place in Whitman County from Thursday to Sunday at the fairgrounds located on State Route 26 West of Colfax. The hours of operation are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The fair kicks off on Thursday morning with a senior pancake breakfast starting at 8:00 AM, followed by the opening ceremonies at 10:00 AM. Carnival rides are available Thursday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Friday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM (and until 4:00 PM on Sunday).

The PRCA Rodeo will occur on Thursday and Friday nights at 7:00 PM, while a local rodeo and a horses vs. horsepower competition are scheduled for Saturday night at 7:00 PM. Additional events include a watermelon eating contest on Friday at 4:00 PM and cow chip bingo on Sunday at 1:00 PM.

Admission prices for the fair are set at $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for youth, and free for children under five.
