The Pullman Police Department has issued a reminder regarding the legality of using indoor furniture outdoors. According to City of Pullman code, it is prohibited to place indoor items such as couches and recliners outside, including on porches. This issue is particularly noted in the College Hill area.

The reminder coincides with the beginning of the Washington State University football season, during which there have been instances of couches being burned in celebration of football victories. Over the past several seasons, numerous couches have been set on fire on College Hill following WSU football games.
