The Washington State Board of Education has announced the selection of Abby Wu, a senior from Pullman High School, as the next student member of the Board.

Abby is an active participant in competitive varsity swimming and is involved in the Running Start program, with interests in digital media and video production. She holds a leadership role in the Washington Youth Alliance and is also a member of the Association of Washington Student Leaders.

In her own words, Abby expressed her motivation for applying, stating her desire to ensure that students, particularly those from rural or isolated areas, have their voices represented at the state level. She aims to advocate for educational systems that prioritize student opinions and perspectives.

Looking ahead, Abby plans to attend college on the East Coast and aspires to become a Foreign Service Officer after completing her education.
