Sunnyside Elementary in Pullman has been recognized as a “Promising Practices Professional Learning Community at Work” by Solution Tree for its efforts in enhancing student achievement.
The organization highlights that the school’s dedication to the Professional Learning Community (PLC) at Work process has significantly influenced student learning outcomes.
Schools designated as Promising Practices are acknowledged for establishing a solid foundation rooted in PLC principles, effectively implementing these principles over a span of one to two years, and demonstrating clear evidence of improved student learning during that time. After obtaining measurable results, the school is required to detail its practices, structures, and culture before submitting an application for review by the PLC Review Committee.
In response to the recognition, Principal Pam Brantner stated the school feels honored and believes it is making progress toward improvement, crediting the achievement to the collaborative efforts of the entire staff at Sunnyside.
