The White Pine Fire in North Latah County has burned over 1,000 acres and is currently 10% contained. Recent rainfall over the weekend has assisted firefighting efforts. The fire has maintained a containment level of 10% for over a week, with nearly 400 firefighters currently assigned to manage it. The U.S. Forest Service has allocated 7.4 million dollars to fight the fire, which began last month. Access to the national forest in the affected area remains restricted.
