Plans for an expanded winery for Merry Cellars in Pullman have not proceeded due to increased costs associated with the project. The Port of Whitman County has finalized an agreement to repurchase land in the Pullman Industrial Park that Merry Cellars previously acquired. The winery had purchased two parcels from the port in 2019 and 2022. Winemaker Patrick Merry, who announced plans for the new facility three years ago, stated that the project became financially unfeasible but expressed intentions to continue seeking opportunities for expansion in Pullman. The port is repurchasing the lots, which total approximately six and a half acres, for $795,000.
