Idaho Fish and Game has announced a temporary closure of the adult unclipped chinook salmon fishing season for at least one week, starting this Friday. This decision comes as a result of the delayed arrival of the chinook salmon run, attributed to elevated water temperatures in the Columbia and Snake Rivers. The agency has indicated that there is a possibility of reopening the season for adult wild chinook after this one-week period. Meanwhile, fishing for clipped hatchery chinook salmon remains permitted.
