The Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre is set to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sunday, September 21, at 7:00 pm on Main Street in Moscow, marking the completion of a $200,000 historic marquee restoration project.
The project has involved the installation of new custom cabinets, LED backlighting, running lights, and neon tubes, all crafted to align with the original specifications from the building’s initial construction. Funding for the restoration came from several organizations, including the Idaho Heritage Trust, the National Parks Service, the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, and the Innovia Foundation.
Following the ribbon-cutting, there will be a free screening of “Sunset Boulevard” at 8:00 pm. The Moscow Chamber of Commerce will oversee the ceremony, during which KPAC Executive Director Colin Mannex will welcome attendees and provide insights into the history of the Main Street building.
The event is open to all patrons and supporters of KPAC and aims to celebrate the restoration of a notable feature in downtown Moscow.
