Containment of the White Pine Fire is currently at 58%.

The fire in North Latah County is approximately 1,000 acres in size, with around 350 personnel assigned to manage the situation. The fire began last month, and access to the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest in the affected area remains restricted. The U.S. Forest Service has allocated nearly 14 million dollars towards firefighting efforts east of State Highway 6, near the Giant White Pine Campground.
