The Latah County Sheriff’s Office has lifted the evacuation order for residents near the White Pine Fire.

Current containment of the fire is reported at 81%, with the total area affected being approximately 1,000 acres. The fire, which began last month, has over 200 personnel assigned to it. The U.S. Forest Service has allocated 15.5 million dollars towards managing the White Pine Fire.

The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest within the fire zone remains closed to the public.
