The Johnson School building is currently available for sale. The school ceased operations in the 1940s when the Johnson School District was dissolved and became part of the Pullman School District, although the building was never utilized as a school by the Pullman School District. Previously, the Johnson Grange held meetings in the building.

As of 2023, the Pullman School Board has designated the old schoolhouse as surplus property, paving the way for its sale. The process of sorting out the title paperwork took approximately two years to complete.

The property spans nearly three acres, and bids for the school are being accepted at the Pullman School District office until 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 19th. Johnson is a small community located south of Pullman.
