The Pullman Firefighters’ Union has shared information about recent upgrades to the dispatch center in Whitman County via a Facebook post.

The updated technology includes the Phoenix G2 paging system and unit-based dispatching, which replace the previous system that had been in use since the 1970s for notifying local firefighters of incoming calls.

These enhancements are expected to improve response times and optimize crew alerts by notifying only the relevant teams needed for specific incidents.
