The Idaho Technology Council presented the Mt. Borah Visionary Leader Award to University of Idaho President Scott Green on October 16 at the Hall of Fame Idaho Tech and Idavation Awards in Boise.

This recognition highlights the University of Idaho’s recent Carnegie R1 research university designation, significant research expenditures, and contributions in fields such as cybersecurity, agriculture, rangeland health, and biomedical sciences. The award is intended for an individual who has positively impacted Idaho’s technology and entrepreneurial sectors.

In response to receiving the award, Green expressed gratitude, attributing the honor to the innovation fostered by the faculty, staff, and students at the University of Idaho. He noted the institution’s ambitious goals and the team’s commitment to achieving them.

Additionally, U of I Distinguished Professor Carolyn Bohach received the inaugural Star Garnet Women Leading Tech Award for her leadership in the Idaho INBRE biomedical research program. Two alumni of the university were also recognized: Brandi Milliron ’97 received the Sawtooth STEM Educator Award, while Nick Stoppello ’13 was a finalist for the Peregrine Innovative Technology Award.
