Steptoe Butte State Park, located north of Colfax, has been closed since February due to flood damage. The park was already scheduled for closure last spring for a paving project, and crews have been working on repaving the road to the summit since late May. While initial reports indicated the park would reopen in late October, an update on the Washington State Parks Department’s website now suggests that the reopening may be postponed until early November.
