The 22nd Annual Palouse Basin Water Summit is scheduled for Tuesday in Pullman.
This annual event will address the region’s primary water source, the Grande Ronde Aquifer, which has experienced a decline of approximately 8 inches per year. Recent data indicates that the rate of decline has stabilized in recent years.
This year’s keynote speaker is environmental journalist Daniel Rothberg, who is known for his work on the Invisible Waters Newsletter. The annual report on the state of the basin will be presented by Mike Faupel, the Executive Director of the Palouse Basin Aquifer Committee.
The water summit will take place on Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 at the SEL Event Center in Pullman. Attendance is free and open to the public.
