The Palouse Conservation District has been awarded grants totaling nearly one million dollars for projects aimed at improving the Palouse River watershed in Whitman County. The funding has been provided by the Washington State Department of Ecology. One grant, amounting to nearly half a million dollars, is designated for riparian improvements in the watershed. Another grant, approximately $300,000, will support water quality enhancements for Wilbur Creek at Washington State University’s Knott Dairy Center, located near Pullman.
