Washington State University Libraries has enhanced its digital collection by adding over 530,000 e-books through a new agreement with ProQuest, increasing the total to more than 810,000 titles available on the ProQuest Ebook Central platform.

These e-books allow unlimited simultaneous users, making them suitable for integration into courses, and can now be accessed via the libraries’ Search It tool. The platform includes a beta version of an artificial intelligence research assistant.

WSU Libraries Dean Trevor Bond noted the advantages of having e-books for research purposes, highlighting their accessibility, text mining capabilities, and citation support, which have contributed to their usage. Since January, the WSU community has downloaded more than 219,000 e-books.

The ProQuest Ebook Central platform provides access to over 2.4 million e-books from more than 1,300 publishers, covering a wide range of academic fields.
