A controlled burn is scheduled for North Latah County this month to reduce wildfire risk. The U.S. Forest Service plans to burn 350 acres in the Palouse District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, specifically near Prospect Peak, northeast of Potlatch. The public is advised that smoke from the burn will be visible in North Latah County.
