The Cougar Food Pantry at Washington State University will receive additional food supplies and funding for equipment due to a recent donation from Safeway.
The WSU community is invited to tour the Cougar Food Pantry in the Compton Union Building on April 10 at 9:00 am for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the upgrade.
Safeway’s contribution includes food to help stock the pantry and a cash donation of $20,000 to assist in acquiring new refrigerators and freezers.
The event will include remarks from Dave Cillay, chancellor of WSU Pullman, Ben Calabretta, director of the Center for Civic Engagement, and Sara Osborne, government and public affairs director for the Seattle Division of Albertsons Companies. Representatives from the Seattle Seahawks will also attend.
