The Palouse Volunteer Fire Department is currently recruiting new members in preparation for the upcoming wildfire season. The department is looking for volunteers to participate in firefighting and EMS activities. Annually, the Palouse volunteers respond to approximately 50 calls. This spring, they will be conducting a mini academy for new recruits. Prospective volunteers are required to attend a minimum of 18 training sessions each year.
