A fundraising campaign has been initiated to support the Gladish Community and Cultural Center in Pullman. The nonprofit facility recently faced financial challenges following the closure of Pullman Community Montessori, which previously leased space in the Gladish. This closure, mandated by the Washington Charter School Commission due to charter violations, resulted in a significant loss of revenue for the nonprofit.
The Friends of Gladish launched their campaign on Monday, aiming to raise funds for the preservation and revitalization of the historic landmark and community center. Their fundraising target is one million dollars, with 650,000 dollars allocated for immediate financial needs. A kickoff event for the campaign is scheduled for Saturday, May 31st, at 1 PM at the Gladish. The campaign will feature public events, business sponsorship opportunities, and matching gift challenges.
The Gladish serves as a venue for numerous local nonprofits and hosts various concerts, plays, and public meetings throughout the year. The building was formerly the Pullman High School.
