The Whitman County Coroner’s Office has announced the cause of death for Steven Paul Sargent, a 60-year-old man who was found deceased in a shed fire in Pullman on December 31.

The coroner’s report indicates that Sargent died from asphyxia caused by smoke inhalation in a dwelling located on the 400 block of NE Maple St during the incident.
