A meet the candidates gathering is scheduled for Thursday night in downtown Pullman to assist voters in preparing for the upcoming local primary election.
There are 27 candidates participating in primary runoffs for positions on the Pullman City Council, Pullman School Board, and Whitman County Commissioner. The Whitman County Democrats will host non-partisan candidate meet and greets every Thursday night in June and July, which are open to the public. These gatherings will take place from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Pups & Cups Café. This Thursday, candidates for the Pullman City Council, including John Casselman, John-Mark Mahnkey, Shae Ortega, and Tawny Szumlas, will be present.
Voting in the primary will commence with the mailing of ballots on July 18th, and the primary election is set for August 5th.
