The University of Idaho presented its 25-year Long Range Campus Development Plan to the Idaho State Board of Education this week.

The development process began in February of the previous year, when the University hired a consulting firm to create a plan for the growth and improvement of the Moscow campus. This initiative, termed “Vision 2050,” involved extensive stakeholder engagement through thousands of surveys, forums, and town hall meetings.

The plan outlines 51 potential projects aimed at expanding UI campus facilities by over three million square feet. Among these, the consultants highlighted around a dozen priority projects, which consist of a new science and engineering research complex, upgrades to parking, a 6th Street pedestrian mall, renovations to Memorial Gym, a new academic building, the Vandal Tennis Center, and a new West concourse for the P1FCU Kibbie Dome.

The planning documents presented to the board do not include cost estimates for these proposed projects.
