The Washington Department of Ecology has announced the allocation of nearly one million dollars in grants aimed at enhancing the Palouse River watershed.

These water quality grants have been designated for the Palouse Conservation District. Among the allocations, one grant amounts to nearly half a million dollars, which will be utilized to restore vegetation for riparian buffers at eight designated sites along waterways in the basin. Additionally, a separate grant of nearly 300,000 dollars is earmarked for improving vegetation along Wilbur Creek, located at Washington State University’s Knott Dairy Farm, which ultimately feeds into Union Flat Creek and the Palouse River.
