The Coleman Oil Company has been fined $12,000 for failing to promptly notify the Washington Department of Ecology about a spill resulting from a tanker crash. The incident took place in January 2023 when a Coleman tanker crashed south of Colfax on U.S. Highway 195.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has announced the opening of the spring Chinook salmon fishing season on the Lower Snake River, starting on Tuesday. Fishing for spring Chinook in this area is permitted only below Little Goose Dam, located south of LaCrosse.

A post on the county’s website indicates that the original ballots were printed with incorrect sequencing numbers. The Pullman School Board voted Wednesday night not to reconsider the elimination of the high school athletics and activities director position. The decision followed a presentation of support for AD Wendy Kruger. Pullman Schools Superintendent Dr. Bob Maxwell had previously informed PHS staff about the board’s decision.
