Latah County emergency responders are providing information on reducing the risk of wildfires as summer approaches. The Latah Community Emergency Response Team is organizing a wildfire preparation meeting on April 7 at 3:00 pm in the Conference Room located in the Federal Building behind the Post Office.
A pilot reported observing a drone flying near their aircraft at an altitude of 13,000 feet over Tekoa on Thursday afternoon. The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office received the report around 6:00 PM. Air traffic control in Seattle was notified by the pilot, and controllers subsequently informed the Spokane County authorities.
