
Memorial Day ceremonies are scheduled in several communities in Whitman County on Monday morning. A ceremony will take place at the VFW Memorial in Colfax at 10:00 AM. The Garfield ceremony is set for 11:00 AM at the local cemetery. Additionally, the Colton/Uniontown ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM at the Colton cemetery.

Washington State University will host a wreath-laying ceremony on campus in recognition of Memorial Day on Friday morning. The ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 AM at the Veteran’s Memorial on campus.

Boat races are scheduled to take place in Elk River this weekend. The Stateline Outboard Racing Association’s Memorial Day Weekend Regatta will occur on Saturday and Sunday. Racing on Elk Creek Reservoir is set to begin at 11:00. The Elk River Volunteer Fire Department will be providing hamburgers for attendees.

Onecho Bible Church is offering a children’s summer program this June. Adventure Thursdays is a four-day outdoor camp designed for kids completing kindergarten through 6th grade at Schmuck City Park in Colfax. The program features activities such as painting, sports games, an obstacle course, and building projects.
