The Community Action Center is encouraging participation from businesses and organizations in Whitman County for The Great Food Fight on the Palouse, a food drive competition taking place from November 12 to December 10. The competition will recognize the business that collects the highest weight of food.
Businesses can sign up until November 19, and food donations will be accepted from November 19 to December 10.
The nonperishable food items collected will support the Community Food Bank operated by the CAC, which has provided assistance to over 400 children from July to October 2025.
Elora Irby, Community Outreach Assistant with the Community Action Center, highlighted the increasing need for food assistance in the community, stating that many local families require support.
To assist in their efforts, participating businesses will receive a playbook, social media tools, and other promotional materials. Registration is available through the provided link or by reaching out to Heidi Hughes at [email protected].
