The campground at Kamiak Butte County Park has reopened for camping as of Monday, following upgrades to the water system. The Whitman County Parks Department completed a three-month project to replace the water infrastructure in the park. The campground, located north of Pullman, had been closed since late April. With the restoration of water access, facilities such as barbecue grills and restrooms in the day-use area are now available for public use.

However, the parks department has issued a reminder regarding a ban on campfires and charcoal grills within the campground. Gas grills and camp stoves remain permitted in the area. Additionally, hiking at Kamiak Butte was reopened last month.
