A pilot reported observing a drone flying near their aircraft at an altitude of 13,000 feet over Tekoa on Thursday afternoon. The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office received the report around 6:00 PM. Air traffic control in Seattle was notified by the pilot, and controllers subsequently informed the Spokane County authorities.
A controlled burn is planned for North Latah County this month. The U.S. Forest Service will conduct a burn covering 350 acres in the Palouse District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest, specifically near Prospect Peak Northeast of Potlatch.
