The Port of Whitman County and the Washington State Department of Commerce are hosting a federal grant workshop for community members. This free event will take place from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on April 23 at The Center in Colfax. The workshop will include presentations and group discussions among participants.
The State of Washington’s annual trout fishing derby features an opportunity for young anglers. Saturday marks the opener for trout fishing in Washington lakes. Each year, the state department of fish and wildlife tags over a thousand fish in select lakes for the derby, which also begins on Saturday.
