The Central Ferry Fire, located south of Dusty in Whitman County, has been extinguished. Fire crews successfully contained the blaze, which encompassed 6,600 acres and ignited on Wednesday morning. The fire was reportedly sparked when a motorhome caught fire while traveling up State Route 127 from the Snake River. In response, state mobilization occurred Wednesday afternoon, deploying units from various locations across Washington. The fire affected areas in the Snake River Canyon and burned fields situated on the upper breaks.
