The Cherry Fire north of Deary is currently 10% contained as firefighting crews continue their efforts. The fire has affected 113 acres of logging slash in a timber sale area managed by the State of Idaho. Approximately 200 firefighters are involved in the response, which is being led by the Idaho Department of Lands. The fire was first reported on Monday night, and the cause is still under investigation.
