Firefighters are working to contain the Cherry Fire North of Deary, which is currently reported to be 80% contained as of Sunday morning. The fire has affected an area of 113 acres, primarily burning through heavy logging slash in a timber sale on Idaho state endowment lands. A total of 144 firefighters are involved in the efforts to manage the situation. The fire was first reported on Monday night, and the cause is still under investigation.
