The City of Pullman’s firefighters union has issued a reminder regarding the fire risk associated with cottonwood fluff.

During spring, this fluff accumulates around the town, particularly on College Hill. Due to its highly flammable nature, the Pullman Fire Department typically responds to multiple incidents involving fluff fires each year. Residents are encouraged to wet the fluff, rake it up, and dispose of it appropriately.
