The City of Pullman’s indoor pool has reopened after a closure of over a week due to ventilation system issues.

The Pullman Aquatic and Fitness Center’s ventilation has been repaired, and the city announced on Friday that the facility is operational again.

Plans are underway for Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) to potentially acquire the facility. On Monday, the Pullman School Board will review a purchase and sale agreement with SEL. The pool, which was built 25 years ago through a donation from the Schweitzer Family, is currently owned by the Pullman School District. SEL, founded by Dr. Ed Schweitzer, has expressed interest in purchasing the pool to upgrade it and maintain its operation as a public facility.

Additionally, the school board will consider extending the current agreement with the City of Pullman for pool operations through the end of the year, allowing more time to finalize the agreement with SEL. The Pullman School Board will hold a special meeting on Monday night at 6:30 PM at the high school.
