Crews are currently working on controlling the Cherry Fire located north of Deary, Idaho. The Idaho Department of Lands reports that the fire is at 0% containment. A fire line has been established around the perimeter, and water resources are positioned at the edge of the fire. Official containment will only be confirmed once the line withstands gusty winds anticipated on Friday. As of an infrared flight conducted on Wednesday night, the fire has expanded to 113 acres due to additional areas identified as burned. The fire is occurring in logging debris within an active timber harvesting operation managed by the State of Idaho Endowment. There are no threats to nearby structures, and no evacuation orders have been issued. Access to roads within the fire zone is restricted. Nearly 200 firefighters are currently engaged in the response efforts.

The Cherry Fire ignited on Monday night and saw significant growth the following day. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
