Crime rates in Idaho have reached their lowest point in four years, according to the latest annual state crime report released by the Idaho State Police. In Latah County, total crime reports decreased by 15% last year, largely due to a significant reduction in car thefts, which fell by over 50% compared to the previous year. Additionally, the number of burglaries in Latah County was approximately half of what it was the year prior.
In Moscow, reports made to the police department revealed a decrease of more than 17% in crime for 2024. Meanwhile, the sheriff’s office in Latah County recorded a 6% decline in criminal activity over the same period. Overall, these trends indicate a notable reduction in crime in Latah County, marking the lowest levels since 2020.
