There are numerous elected positions in Whitman County for small taxing districts that currently have no candidates for this year’s election.

The available seats include those for city and town councils, school boards, and hospital districts in the county’s smaller communities. Additionally, candidates are sought for boards overseeing volunteer fire districts, parks and recreation districts, and cemetery districts.

Candidate filing will close at 5:00 PM on Friday and can be completed at the Whitman County Auditor’s Office in Colfax or online at the Whitman County website.
