The United Way of Moscow is expanding its School Lunch Debt Forgiveness Program across Latah County. Previously, the organization assisted students in a few schools with their lunch debts. Now, it is extending its support to cover accrued lunch debts in several districts, including the Moscow School District, Palouse Prairie Charter School, Moscow Charter School, Genesee School District, Potlatch School District, and Whitepine Joint School District through a targeted grant program.

In Latah County, approximately 39% of households are classified as ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) or below, indicating a significant portion of the population may face challenges with unexpected expenses, potentially leading to financial difficulties.
