The federal government has announced its annual funding to Latah County to compensate for the loss of local government property tax revenue.

Idaho U.S. Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch have disclosed the Payments in Lieu of Taxes funding for 2025. This funding is intended to address the impact on local governments due to their inability to collect property taxes on federal lands. Latah County will receive approximately $318,000 for about 102,000 acres of federal property.
