A fire involving a semi grain truck ignited a small wildland blaze south of Palouse on Wednesday afternoon. Firefighting volunteers from Whitman County Fire District 4 based in Palouse, as well as District 12 from Pullman, responded promptly to the scene, which was located at the intersection of Parvin and Collins Roads, shortly after 4:00 PM. The fire originated from the semi grain truck, which was completely destroyed, and subsequently spread to approximately one acre before the volunteers were able to extinguish it. Additionally, volunteers from Whitman County Fire District 11 in Albion also assisted in the response. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of District 4.
